Job Description

Purpose and Scope

The position ensures products are manufactured per company standard operating procedures (SOPs), works to continuously improve process efficiencies and resolves production maintenance issues as they arise. The position requires working in a team environment with other departments such as Software Engineering, Production, Science, Marketing and Sales. The position also requires working with external customers, vendors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

All members of the Engineering Departments are responsible for complying with all applicable quality assurance procedures. In particular, the position will work with EGI’s inventory system, create and maintain engineering bills of materials (BOMs), take action per engineering change orders (ECOs), oversee testing and calibration of production equipment, increase efficiency by evaluating processes, improving production flow and improving engineering cycle time.

Organization Relationships

The position reports directly to the Hardware Engineering Manager.

Job Requirements

Prior Education or Training

At a minimum, the position requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering, plus two years in a manufacturing or production engineering role. A Manufacturing Engineering degree or an Industrial Engineering degree is preferred.

Technical Requirements

The position is required to read, understand and generate technical and engineering documents proficiently. And at a minimum, the position must demonstrate capability in the following skills:

  • ERP/Inventory systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP
  • Bill of Materials systems
  • Engineering Change Order systems and databases
  • Generation and maintenance of QMS documents such as Standard Operating Procedures
  • Vendor and Contractor Manufacturer management

Experience

Preferred experience includes a four-year BS Degree with three to five years technical experience in the following disciplines: IEC 60601 and EMC testing, test and calibration processes, maintenance and control of electronics products.

Familiarity with medical device manufacturing and ISO 13485 quality management systems is desirable.

Net Tech Trainee

Net Tech Trainee

Full Time, Hourly, Non-exempt position with benefits. Department: Manufacturing

Job Description

This position will be trained on how to assemble one of EGI’s products, a 128 channel adult HydroCel Geodesic Senor Net, for 90 days. After successful completion of the 90 day training period, trainees will advance to Net Tech I position.

Job Requirements

Prior Education or Training

Minimum Job Requirements: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Technical Requirements

Trainees must be able to sit for most of the 8 hour work day and be able to constantly work with and manipulate small parts and tools with their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and tools for the 8 hours. Net assembly may also require reaching for items at or above eye level on a regular basis, and lifting up to 5 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth focus, and ability to adjust focus. Trainees must be able to perform repetitive tasks over and over without becoming bored and losing focus. Trainees must also have good manual dexterity, be able to pay close attention to detail, and be able to read, understand, and follow detailed instructions of the Net assembly procedures within the company’s Quality system. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite is required. This job requires the ability to work well with others in close proximity and to be a team member.

Experience

Some previous production assembly experience will be helpful, but is not required.
